What are some indicators of a leaking pool?
Cracked or raised decking that surrounds the pool or spa.
Looses over a quarter inch in a 24 hour period.
Water pooling up in the yard around the pool or at the street.
Consistent chemical imbalances such as low cyanuric acid or chlorine levels.
Plants or grass growing significantly more in one area or in the case of a salt water pool plants or grass dying in one area.
Abnormally high water bill.
What is the average evaporation rate in Texas?
The year round, average evaporation rate is 1/8th to ¼th inch a day. However, here in Texas we can loose up to a half inch a day in the hottest parts of the summer.
Do I need to be home for the test?
Although not necessary we are happy to schedule with your availability as it is your backyard, we understand if you prefer to be home, your comfort is a priority to us!
How do I prepare for a leak test?
Have the pool filled to its normal operating level to insure our ability to preform a full dye test.
We prefer to have our vehicles as close to pool or pool equipment as possible as we may be extending extension cords or air hoses from vehicle.
Have any locks or obstructions along access to pool unlocked or opened.
How can I determine how much water my pool is losing?
Step 1: Turn the pool off and the let the water level settle so that there isn’t movement.
Step 2: Mark the current level in the skimmer with a pencil.
Step 3: Wait 24 hours and turn off the pool to let water settle again for most accurate test.
We recommend taking pictures for the before and after as they don’t lie and have time stamps attached to them.
